Friday’s on my Mind by Kelly Jax

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our brand-new single Friday’s on My Mind by Kelly Jax – The Kelly Jax Band plays a high-energy, feel-good anthem that’s been a long time coming and straight from the heart. ❤️

Written, sung, drummed, and produced by the multi-talented Kelly Jax, this track is bursting with soul and rhythm — the kind of song that makes you want to roll the windows down and blast it on repeat. With scorching guitar licks by the one and only Marc Jaxheimer on lead guitar, and the rock-solid rhythm work of Mr. Rock McP holding it down, this song is pure sonic joy from start to finish. 💥🎸🔥

Song Origin

But this song is more than just music — it’s a celebration of friendship, community, and the places that feel like home. The inspiration for “Friday’s on My Mind” comes from one very special spot: TGI Friday’s in Quakertown, PA.

Over time, the incredible staff at this restaurant have become much more than friendly faces behind the bar, waiting tables, seating people, cooking, cleaning, or managing — they’ve become family. From warm smiles to full-on festive magic (shout out to manager Doug, the undisputed king of holiday decorating — we see you, Halloween and St. Paddy’s Day 🎃🍀🌞 and we appreciate Friday’s supporting live music, too!), every visit feels like walking into a party where you’re always welcome.

Here’s the thing though — when your friends work weekends, “Friday” doesn’t always mean Friday. It might be a Tuesday, a Thursday… or whenever you get that sacred break from the grind. We’ve had so many laughs, late-night hangouts, and deep convos with our TGI crew on those offbeat days, and it made us think about what “Friday” really means.

And then there’s that legendary sign above the bar — you know the one:

🟥 “In here, it’s always Friday.” 🟥

That phrase stuck with us. It made us smile. And then… it became a song.

So, whether your Friday is actually Friday, or just the one precious day you get to feel free, relaxed, and surrounded by the people who lift you up — this one’s for you. If you celebrate each and every day – every day can be Friday!

💿 “Friday’s on My Mind” is out now! 💿
We hope it brings a little sunshine, some sweet upbeat vibes, and maybe even a craving for some Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Glaze – if you know, you know. 😉

And now, to tie it all together — here are the lyrics that bring this story to life. 🎤👇

Friday’s on my Mind by Kelly Jax Lyrics

You may work the weekend
Or maybe nine to five
Love your job or leave it
I’ve got Friday on my mind

Too broke to retire
No matter where I drive
Go out to eat or take a seat
Friday’s on my mind

If you think the right way
Use each day to play
Each and everyday
Can be Friday, Friday, Friday

Friday is a mindset
Imagination met
If you think the right way
Every day can be Friday

Choose to celebrate
Small things that make you great
If you think the right way
Every day can be Friday

If you think the right way
Use each day to play
Each and everyday
Can be Friday, Friday, Friday

Happy is a choice
Choose to use your voice
If you think the right way
Every day can be Friday

If you think the right way
Use each day to play
Each and everyday
Can be Friday, Friday, Friday
