Oh Dorothy
This song was inspired by my grandmother’s life story which she revealed to us over time as we hung out with her at family events. She is now 90 years old, and we are so glad to have her in our lives.
I recorded this song playing each part myself with the exception of the guitars and guitar solo which my husband Marc Jaxheimer rocked out for me! On the chorus, I am joined by my best friend, Shari Bijaczyk singing melody and my daughter Stephanie singing harmony. It was so much fun collaborating to put together this piece.
Since my first production, I have learned so much about the tools for putting both music and music videos together. I truly ENJOYED producing this one. Some of my friends have referenced the Black Keys when they hear it, so I consider that to be a mega compliment and for the song to fall into the the category of alternative rock.
All clips for the music video were filmed in my hometown, Quakertown, PA with a Canon camera and my iPhone. It was truly a pleasure making this happen!
